The British Airline Pilots Association (BALPA) has won a major legal victory against Ryanair in an initial court battle over the punitive actions of the airline against pilots who took industrial action in 2019.

BALPA responds to news of potential job losses at easyJet

Pilots say they fear the Government still has no strategic plan for how to help aviation through the coronavirus induced crisis, after evidence was given at to the Transport Select Committee today. 

The Irish airline Ryanair, which recently accepted £600m in funding from the Bank of England, today confirmed that it is proposing to make up to 336 pilots in the UK redundant. 

Following on today’s reports that Ryanair is telling office staff not to come back to work, the pilots union BALPA said they had received an ultimatum from the company to accept swingeing cuts in pay and conditions or face job losses.
